Movimento Insieme
Dear friends, fellow members of the Movimento Insieme for the European Federal Union,
I think that few among us will disagree to the opinion that year 2020 has proven certainty and stability being nothing but a kind of illusions which help us to better deal with our lives and feel more comfortable with the only constant in life: Change.
So, why am I doing this? Why am I trying to ignite a pan-European peoples movement for the European Federal Union?
As tragically proven by the effects of coronavirus pandemic in Europe, the European Federal Union is nothing but an immediate necessity and it’s only up to the peoples of Europe to make it happen.
I know it might sound naive, romantic or even foolish. That’s fine, no hard feelings. I’ve faced this reaction several times in my startup journey.
Fellow peoples of Europe,
The European Union has been created and evolved the decades that followed the tragedy of the Second World War. It started with the primary objective of healing the open wounds of this unprecedented tragedy. It gradually evolved though to a closer and closer union of member states, which brought us to the ‘Erasmus Generation’, hundreds of millions of young people who feel Europe as their homeland.
As long as there were many Europeans with living memories from the Second World War, the necessity for the Union had never been challenged nor had its direction ever been questioned. Clearly, the EU was destined to become a federal union, with the monetary union being the first significant achievement in this journey.
